Los Angeles singer-songwriter and producer Betty Moon introduces “Runaway,” the third single from her recently released album, Hellucination, whose first two singles, “Save My Soul” and “Crazy (What You Make Me), are in the running for Grammy nominations.

Originally from Toronto, Canada, Moon has been releasing contagious rock, pop, and electronic music since first signing with A&M Records, which released her self-titled debut LP. Substantiated by four CASBY nominations, including Best Album, Best Single, Best Video, and Best Artist, Moon’s magical touch occasioned her music appearing on both television and the silver screen: Californication, Dexter, Bounty Hunters, Walking the Dead, and Last Gasp.

After moving to SoCal in 2010, Moon released her fifth album, Rollin’ Revolution, shaking up the airwaves via KROQ, and landing on the center stage at the Sunset Strip Music Festival, performing with Marilyn Manson, Steve Aoki, and The Offspring. She’s played and continues to play at vaunted venues like The Roxy, Whisky a Go Go, and The Viper Room, along with collaborating with artists such as Kenny Aronoff, Wes Scantlin, John Christ, and Chris Lord-Alge.

Renowned for her sumptuously sensuous voice, heady amalgamations of rock and electro-pop, Moon’s sound is unpredictable and claims no single color, yet is always on the cutting edge, shaping and redefining the avant-garde.

“Runaway” opens on potently thrumming guitars topped by Moon’s wickedly sultry voice rife with dominant assertion. Savors of electro-pop blend with alt-rock filaments to produce a gloriously surging melody, climaxing in an infectious flow on the chorus, simultaneously alluring and full of driving sonic pressure.

“You said it, you said it, you said it was over / I said it, I’ll say it, I say / I ain’t gonna Runaway / That ain’t gonna solve a thing / You can let me down / Thinkin’ I would drown / But I’m gonna figure it out.”

“Runaway is excellent, discharging delicious textures and a mesmerizing rhythm, all highlighted by the exquisitely nuanced tones of Betty Moon.
